KB DAY Featuring CECIFOOT

On the 11th of June, KB again welcomed more than 450 children from our NGO and school partners for our last KB DAY of the school year before the summer holidays. The theme of the day was social inclusion as the children were mixed into different teams ranging from Under 9 up to U15 – great for sharing and making new friends! We also started the morning with a Cecifoot game between Krousar Thmey Kompong Chnam and Krousar Themy Phnom Penh.  Cecifoot is a game inspired by football that was created in France in 1987 for blind and visually impaired players. There is a bell inside the ball to allow the players to hear where the ball is, and bars are beaten against the goalposts to signal where the goals are.  This is the first time that an exhibition game of Cecifoot has been played in Cambodia, and the adults and children watching were all inspired and entertained by the energetic and fast-moving match between the Krousar Thmey teams.  Thank you to the volunteers and our sponsors and supporters – UNICEF, Australian Aid, Krousar Thmey, Naga Clinic, and Hagar Catering.
